Let's start 👇

INTRODUCTION

  • Concrete which is formed from industrial wastes that are eco friendly are called as "Green concrete”.
  • Green concrete was first invented in Denmark within the year 1998.
  • Resembles the traditional concrete but it's rock bottom , durable and it requires only minimum amount of energy. It works a greater part in decreasing CO, emission which is extremely important to our country.

What is Green Concrete ?

  • A concrete that is made with concrete waste and uses less energy in its production & produces less CO2 than normal concrete

  • This is called eco-friendly and reduces environmental impact.

Why Green Concrete ?

The main ingredient in concrete is cement and it consists (Calcium Carbonate CaCO3)

of Limestone

  • At the time of manufacturing of cement, ingredients are heated in range  800°C – 1000°C.
  • During this process the CO2 is driven off.
  • Approximately 1kg of cement releases about 900gms of CO2 into the atmosphere.
  • Therefore, green concrete came into existence to scale back the emission of CO2 .

COMPOSITION OF GREEN CONCRETE:

  • 40% of hydraulic cement ,
  •  25% of ultra fine slag,
  • 25% of ultra fine ash and
  •  10% of silica fume,
  • 4% volume fraction of steel fiber.

ADVANTAGES :

1.Green concrete having better workability than conventional concrete

2.Reduction in shrinkage & creep.

3. Green Concrete make the use of locally available and recycled items in Concrete.

4. the warmth of hydration of green concrete is significantly less than traditional concrete.

5. Good thermal resistant and fire resistant.

Some of the technical benefits of the utilization of ash in Green Concrete are

  • Higher ultimate strength

  • Increased durability
  • Improved workability
  • Reduced bleeding
  • Increased resistance to alkali-silica reactivity
  • Reduced shrinkage

CONCLUSION

Green concrete reduced environmental impact,

By decreasing the emission of CO2 by 30% from Concrete industries

Green concrete has good thermal and fire resistant.

In this concrete recycling use of waste like ceramic wastes, aggregates, so increased concrete industry's use of waste products by 20%.

Henceforth green concrete consumes less energy and becomes economical.

Therefore use of green Concrete in future reduces CO2 In environment  but also it is economical
