SHORING

It is the construction of temporary structure to support  the unsafe structure temporary

 It provide lateral support to the wall and is used in following condition

  • when wall shows sign of bulging due to poor workmenship
  • When cracks develop due to unequal settlement of foundation
  • When adjustment structure undergoes dismantling
  • When opening are made on enlarge in the wall

Shores may be of following types

1. Raking shoring

 This method consists of following member

1 Raker inclined member

2 Wall plate

3 Needle

4 Cleat

5 Bracing

 6 Sale plate

Angle 45-75 between inclined member and ground surface

 

2. Flying Horizontal Shoring

 In this method horizontal temporary support is provided to two adjacent

parallel panty wall of the two building where the intermediate building is to be

down and rebuilt

3. Dead or vertical shores

In this system vertical support is provide to walls floors etc. when the lower part of a wall has to be removed for the purpose of providing and opening
