Deck Type Truss and Through Type Truss refer to different configurations of truss bridges based on the positioning of the roadway relative to the trusses.
Deck Type Truss:
In a deck type truss bridge, the roadway is situated at the top chord level of the trusses.
This design means that when you travel across the bridge, the trusses are not visible from the roadway, as they are positioned below it.
The trusses support the roadway from above
Through Type Truss:
In a through-type truss bridge, the roadway is positioned at the bottom chord level of the trusses. When traveling across this bridge, you can see the web members of the trusses on either side of the roadway, giving the impression that you are "going through" the truss structure.
Semi-Through Type Truss:
In a semi-through type truss bridge, the roadway is positioned between the top and bottom chords of the trusses.
The trusses are partially visible from the roadway, with parts of the truss structure extending above and below the roadway.
This type offers a partial view of the trusses from the roadway but not as prominently as in a through type truss.
